Issue #4 will be a short one this time!
I’m doing two presentations this week. It’s been so long since I’ve done one! (well, November but still — has been a while…)
On Tuesday, March 7th at 7:30 pm UK Time (2:30 pm EST) - I will be giving my presentation: “Mastering Mastodon: Another tool in a genealogist’s toolbox”. In a world of social media that’s constantly changing which can appear to be quite daunting for people, I’ll be giving you an in-depth look into Mastodon and how to use it whether for genealogy or just in general. This is a virtual event that is being hosted by the Allen County Public Library’s Genealogy Center. [This presentation will be recorded and uploaded to the Genealogy Center’s YouTube channel, so please don’t worry if you can’t make it. I’ll include the links in Issue #5]

My next presentation will be on Saturday, March 11th at 7:30 pm UK Time (2:30 pm EST) - I will be giving a NEW presentation I’ve not given yet. I’m self-hosting this one and it’s called “Mother and Baby Homes: A Tour through Time”. This will take a look at how these homes were established and the start of the mother and baby homes scandal that was revealed to the public in June 2014 by Catherine Corless and her research into the Tuam mother and baby home. I’ll also be tying it to my work with Project Infant and also to present-day talking about the never-ending fight for survivor’s rights. I had a realisation just today when I was working on the slides. This is more than likely going to be an evergreen topic. As sad as that is, there doesn’t seem to be any clear end to this ongoing struggle. But the main thing is, I’m working on telling more and more people about this dark chapter of Irish history. [This presentation will be recorded and uploaded to my YouTube channel, so please don’t worry if you can’t make it. I’ll include the links in Issue #5]
