As hard as it might be to believe, I think I’ve found my new Twitter. I’m really happy with it as it reminds me of Twitter back in 2019 when it was pretty simple and didn’t have a ton of features.
It’s called T2. It’s another Twitter alternative but has added features to the site quicker than Threads and Bluesky and even is ahead of them in a number of areas. For instance, you can have hashtags and you could have a Twitter chat on there. Another feature that is nice is that you can DM a user as well. Using T2, practically everything there is a familiar feel and it just has a really friendly community there already (with a little over 13K people on there), sure - it might be a small platform but I don’t think it’s gotten the attention it deserves.
Let’s just say, I’m going to start working to build the community over there, so much so — I’m working with Sarah Oh, one of the founders of T2 to build up the genealogy community on there.
Now, the big question is, how do you join? It’s pretty simple, you just need an invite. As part of trying to build a genealogy community on T2, I was given 50 invites. I have 29 left! So, if you want one, please either DM me on some social network you follow me on or email me: dansgenealogy@gmail.com
