Week 3: Long Line

I'm getting back into the swing of writing more #52Ancestors posts. This post I'm going to talk about the names that have popped up in my tree or "A Long Line of Johns"

There are three generations of Johns

The first John I don't know much about other than the fact that he lived in Bohola, Co. Mayo and had John (and more than likely other children, haven't found them yet...) around 1843 and had died before his son John's marriage in 1872.

The second John was born around 1843, in Bohola, Swinford, Co. Mayo. He married Mary Burke of Rosslevin, Swinford, Co. Mayo on February 25th 1872 in Bohola, Swinford, Co. Mayo. He would go on to have 9 children from 1873-1889, one of them being my great grandfather (the third John) He passed away on January 9th 1922 at the age of 79 in Rosslevin, Bohola, Co. Mayo.

The third and final John was born on December 1st 1876 in Rosslevin, Bohola, Co. Mayo. He married a Rose Gallagher from Lisbrogan on March 13th 1910. Sadly Rose passed away on June 7th the same year aged 28. A year later he marries my great grandmother Ellen Noone from Treenduff, Bohola, Co. Mayo. The two would go on to have 8 children together from 1912-1923. He passed away on August 8th 1957 at the age of 80.
